Holland America is great for multi-generational and or older groups and is very nice without being overly priced or over run by singles and kids.Embarkation
The check in lady was humerless. All else is efficient and easy. They could do a bit more to point you in the direction of the shortest walk to get on the boat.

Dance shows were the best and the comedian was very funny. The billboard bar piano guys encouraged you to sing a long so that makes it more fun.

Ship Quality
The ship was showing it's age around the edges, but the layout was nice and easy to get around and the common areas were remodeled and nice and new. The seam in the glass on our balcony and few other small thing gave away the boat's age.
Cabin / Stateroom
Size was great for two and it was very clean. Beds are very comfortable. There was a ton of closet space so that we could unpack everything and keep our suitcases in there to not clutter the main room. Bathroom was good size too.
Ship tip
Near but not too near the elevators is a must. There is small hall on either side of front bank of elevators so walk by fewer rooms to get to the elevator. Less walking is so important on a cruise.
