What a wonderous cruise; with an amazing itinerary, attentive crew, and astounding ship, this week was simply a grand vacation.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick, efficient, and smooth. (I really liked the nearly-touchless check-in process at the pier.)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The Windjammer (buffet) is always a reliable dining option. And dinners in the main dining room were as good as every other ship we've ever cruised with Royal. But the standout dining option was the Solarium Bistro; sooooooooooooooooo good (offering selections found nowhere else in the ship).
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The pools we visited were refreshing and never crowded. The hot tubs were really relaxing. Mini-golf was a blast. We just didn't ever find our old stand-by outdoor activity (shuffleboard).
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The new ice show was remarkable. And the new water show was even better. Both had incredible sound tracks, fantastic performers, and engaging storylines. We also liked the Tap Factory show.
Children's Programs
I didn't bring any kids on this cruise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room attendant (Abel) was incredible. Our room was quickly made up each time we left the suite, and every evening we had a fresh bucket of ice.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We appreciated that this ship is built on circles; it doesn't have any noticeable dead ends. We also really liked the fact that so many varieties of features are available to passengers.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This might have been the biggest room we've ever had on a ship. The bathroom was still kind of small... and the tub wasn't optimally-designed, but we just learned to stand closer to the wall to keep from accidently splashing water during showers.
Ship tip
Pull the drain plug from your tub to save your toes from getting jammed during showers.
