Our days on the Westerdam were great. Quality time with the kids enjoying relaxing, fun activities as well as venturing out through small towns and beaches on shore. Food was plenty, varied and of great taste. the service could be a bit slow at times, but no worries. The music was fantastic; a jazz band, piano singer, rock band and best of all a duo of classical musicians playing the piano and violin. BRAVO to the varied and wonderful entertainment. Dancing With Stars on the last night rocked. An adult pool and spacious open back on the back of the boat was sensational. All ships should have such a layout. Considering the ship did not have the big ticket draws like a flow-rider, climbing wall, zip line or ice rink it was awesome. I went to art history class and dropped in a steel drum lesson. Good stuff....go cruising

Food and Dining

not as bountiful as other cruises, but more than enough in quantity and variety for anyone. The staff served the food even in the buffet line which is a good thing. It is better from a health standpoint and helps control portions (waste not......want not)
Onboard Activities

music styles and talent where top notch
Children's Programs

my teenage boys mostly hung with a group of similar aged kids outside of the club HAL program. They did not think the club's program was in tune to their wants
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Friendly, kind and always around to help. Most all looked you in the eye and said hello as you passed. That's a big plus

up to date common areas. Stateroom was worn with some broken or loose hinges and dinged walls
Cabin / Stateroom
cabin was the same as every other type on other cruise ships. Ours was a bit beaten up with loose hinges on closet doors and knobs that would keep coming off. Our balcony light did not work either. But it was comfortable and served us well. Bathroom seemed more spacious than the Norweigian ship we were on last year. on that ship the toilet was in its own compartment which cut down on the space for the sink and shower.
Ship tip
Some programs were every day and progressed daily; such as the culinary arts kitchen, steel drum lessons, dancing and art history. Start the week off by attending a class and give it a shot. You may end up being able to cook for yourself, get into a reggae band or end up on Dancing With the Stars
Great place. Although not as good as Disney's island, its still an awesome place to spend a few hours. Time on shore was too short, another All Aboard at 2:30 pm. Way to early to leave the island they own for a short sail back to FL.
