Review summary
HAL did a great job on this cruise - the suite was a lovely change with a large balcony; the food offerings were varied, creative and good; the entertainment was very enjoyable There were 2 items that were disappointing: 1) Grand Turks had the most beautiful water I've seen, but there isn't much more to see there! 2) Be careful on the shore excursions that are NOT Holland America sponsored - we nearly missed our ship because the excursion leader wouldn't believe us when we kept reminding him what time we needed to be back on-board!

Thanks for posting your first review here on the Website.
We always take the HAL Shore Excursions for just such peace of mind unless we just walk around the port on our own. After taking 50 cruises, I have seen many passengers miss the ship's departure. One couple had to be taken by the Coast Guard out to the ship and transferred precariously from that boat to our ship. Our ship had to stop dead in the water. It must have been very embarrassing for the couple & dangerous tool. I do not need that anxiety while on vacation.
