Review summary

We went on this cruise to find sun. We found warm climate and friendly people. Enjoyed choices of ports, especially the Holland America Island, the sand........have never in our lives seen anything so fine and white. The room service was excellent, came when they said they would and it was always fresh. All the food was really good except for some of the seafood which had been previously frozen. Being from an area of the country that specializes in fresh seafood we just found other meats to order. The rooms were well cared for also.

When we left home we thought this would be our least favorite day of all the ports. Wow, were we wrong. The Holland America people have made this spot a little heaven on earth. This place was so clean, really really clean and the sand, hard to describe as it was almost powder fine and beautiful. The lunch they prepared was more like a feast. Beautiful water, great in every way.

Don't Miss: Woudl do the horse tour if went again. Heard from those who did this is was great.

We did the island tour and had a terrible guide. She proceded to give history lessons starting in the 1400's. Never did she tell us about what we were passing by or what buildings were used for. Went to one of the two forts and hardly had time to walk to the viewpoints before needing to be back on the bus. Then stopped at another view area and only three were allowed off the bus to take pictures. At the stop in the shopping area we told her we were leaving the tour to walk on our own. She immediatly said, "Tips are appreciated." We told her had it been a good tour we would have been happy to tip. Sorry to say we spent so much of our day with this tour.

Did a bus tour of the island, great guide and tour. Dropped us at a little touristy shopping area and we could have spent more than the 40 min allowed, but it was good. The tour bus either took you to town or to the water taxi area. We chose town and were pleased with the shops and owners. Friendly island, great music, beach, food etc. Great day.

We did the island tour, would have to say it was one of our favorites. Had an excellent guide and he was most informative on island life. Great value for the money.

Cons: didn't have more days to stay
