Review summary

It was a lovely trip to see the Mediterranean, abeit briefly. I am not sure I agree with the ethics of cruising, but I do see the advantages of this mode of travel. It is very nice to not have to unpack every day or two and yet see more than one place. I wish the cruise ships were more ecologically run, and that it were possible to limit the people being discharged from these giant boats every day on these small islands. I am hoping in the future as more ports put into place rules about the number of boats and people, we will be able to load balance the people and places.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Confusing and not well described

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was fantastic, the wait staff were perfect.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were nice, along with the hot tub. The movies in the evening on the pool deck ere rather annoying and few people watched them.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The live music was very loud. The shows were not interesting enough to convince me to go to them.

Children's Programs

I do not have children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The wait staff were wonderful. The room steward was good, however everything we requested we had to request at least twice.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The inside of the ship were clean and orderly. It would be nice if the library were larger, there were a lot of people using it but few seats. The outside of the ship was very dusty and dirty, we were unable to see out of the glass balcony.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was very comfortable and large. My only complaint is the dirtiness of the balcony glass wall, it was so dirty you couldn't see through it.

Ship tip

Continental breakfast delivered to your state room is the way to have breakfast

Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
I was in greece a few days early and we had a lovely time.

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
We had a fine time wandering around the city and going to a strange little museum we wandered into.

Mykonos, Greece

4 out of 5
We went on an excursion at this port. I felt like we were just being shuttled around like sheep. And everywhere we went there were yet more people also being shuttled around. It felt like the definition of over-touristed

Palermo, Sicily

4 out of 5
The city is rather dirty and unkempt. We found some interesting things to see and do after a little bit of wandering.

Valencia, Spain

4 out of 5
It was nice, we went to the aquarium. It was a bit of a pain getting anywhere with the ship so far from the city, but we figured out the local bus system.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Barcelona is lovely, we spent a few days here and had a great time

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Also confusing and not well described. We wanted to do our own disembarking but it was unclear how to do so as they kept steering us away from that choice. We ended up hiding out until most people had disembarked and slipped out with the crowd.

It's an easy solution. Cruise with rich people. They are on much smaller ships than the big cattle barges of the mainline cruiselines.
