Review summary

we had a great time on thanksgiving break and enjoyed the ship and time together. It wasn't our best cruise but it was a great experience. we would travel with RC again and would have better expectations about travelling at holiday time.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The terminal was nice, but it wasn't clear where to drop off luggage so we ended up carrying our bags all the way on the ship ourselves. This is not our first cruise so it was strange no one helped us.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good. Dinners were the best. We felt like the ship lacked options for off meal time foods. Other cruises have had more options near the pool - burgers, grill, pizza that were open all afternoon.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Kids absolutely loved the florider and the mini golf. also the rock climbing and ice skating -that was a surprise treat.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We only made it to one show and it was ok.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Kids club was so crowded you had to line up at least 30-45 minutes before it opened to get a spot. and then the line to pickup took another 30+ minutes. just so many kids. we ended up not using the kids club as much as we would have hoped. Also, a lot of the kids events filled up before we could participate - like the silent disco.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was kind and respectful. Our waiters were nice. We did feel like the waiters were a little pushy about making sure to give them an excellent review - like they were so concerned. it came off pushy and desparate - and it was from many different staff.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a great cabin for a family with 3 + kids!

Ship tip

Sign up for the flowrider as soon as you board so that you kids can use it right away. Later there was a long line to get the wristband.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

we didn't spend any time here.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

manufactured port - very busy getting off the ship and I almost turned right back around. lots of people selling stuff. once we made it over to a little beach it was better.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
we did an excursion and the transportation was easy. we didn't go into the city.

Disembarkation

This process was the worst I have experienced in crusing. 2+ hours in lines through the ship and another hour or so in the line in the building to customs. it was unacceptable.
