Cabin number: 8666

Review summary

Definitely purchase the KEY option with Royal Caribbean (early embarkation; late debarkation; VIP seats in theatres). DO NOT purchase the Internet package. I'm still fighting with them about a refund. It was so inconsistent that we couldn't rely on it. One of us had to fulfill some work obligations while onboard (or we wouldn't have been able to go at all), and he missed two meetings and multiple emails.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The main dining room was so disappointing. The food was always lukewarm and sometimes without any taste (steak; lobster).

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Stage shows were good. The magician was very entertaining. The final night comedian seemed unprepared and just not very funny.

Ship Quality

Common areas were clean and well maintained. However, the cabins really need updating. But the entire ship seems outdated.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very typical size which we were expecting. However, the towels were ragged and very poor quality. Even the toilet paper was think and single ply. The windows and mirrors in our cabin were never clean with large streaks.

Ship tip

Do not do this ship out of San Juan. Just not the quality we are used to with Royal Caribbean

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Explored on our own. Uber easy to use. Be cautious after dark.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Did an excursion which was SO rushed. Each stop was 20 minutes which didn't even give you time to use the restroom. It was obvious on the last two stops (a rum distillery and a cheese shop) that we were there to just spend money and that it was a "deal" with the excursion company.

Willemstad, Curacao

We did an island excursion, which again was very rushed.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

We discovered through friends, a day pass option at the Divi Flamingo. Snorkeling right off the shore; two beautiful pools; resort atmosphere; great drinks and restaurant.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Aruba has been one of our favorites, but the excursion we chose (Kukukunu Party Bus) was so bad. Two great stops at California Lighthouse and Alta Vista Chapel, however, we were dropped off for 2 hours at a beach (Eagle) which didn't have any facilities even to use the restroom, let alone change. Paid for beach loungers with surly vendor and had to take them back two times because they were broken. The description said there would be time to visit shops while there---there were none nearby. We love Aruba, but this spot on Eagle Beach was not the ideal one.
