Review summary

Our family of 6 had an amazing time.  We had a small issue with a constant banging noise. The offered us another room but it couldn't accommodate all of us. So that was a bit annoying but they have given us a discount off a future cruise. Also we found 4 port days in a row a bit tiring, a sea day in the middle would have been better for us. The adjoining rooms were great. We were on deck 2 and found it nice and quiet and not too much movement. Just a long way from all the eating places.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
My daughter is a coeliac but the wait staff were fantastic and made sure she always had something she liked. I loved having the same waiters every day, they got to know us and what we liked. Each day there was a cocktail of the day where you got to keep the glass, we had had two of these from the pool deck with lovely glasses, but when we ordered from the bar were given plastic character cups. Very disappointing.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Great activities, but there was quite a long wait for many of them meaning only few turns. We thought we would all get really good at ice skating, but only managed to get on the ice twice for 30 minutes each time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Our family all enjoyed the shows - ice skating, singing, dancing, magician, comedian.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
The kids only went once, it was OK, but they preferred to stay with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Couldn't fault them. Was lovely to be waited on by such caring staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We have nothing to compare to but had no issues in this are.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabins were interconnecting and we found them great. They were a long way from the eating areas, but that just meant lots of walking for exercise. It was quiet and removed from the late night partying, but we did have a bit of noise from underneath and a banging noise from outside for the second half of the cruise

Ship tip

Get your cocktail glasses from the pool deck early if you want to get the set. Get to activities and shows early to get good seats.

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia

3 out of 5
This is our home port, we just boarded the ship here. The terminal was very efficient.

Noumea, New Caledonia

3 out of 5
Was very easy to navigate around Noumea using the Hop On Hop Off Bus. But the ship did not promote this, preferring to promote their overpriced tours. Beaches were great

Mystery Island, Vanuatu

3 out of 5
Mystery Island is an amazing place with lots of tours etc on the island as well as the ship organised ones. There was some confusion over taking of sealed food onto the island. We had been told we could, in fact that we should but then on the way off the ship, our bags were searched and the food taken off us.

Lifou Isle, New Caledonia

3 out of 5
We did not visit Lifou isle, instead we went to Mare, New Caledonia. This had the most amazing beach with great snorkelling. But we had to catch a bus to get there, which cost $15 per adult and $13 per child. We were not told about this prior to the trip. So we had to pay an extra $86 we had not budgeted for. But the beach was totally worth the bus fare. Jus would have been good if we had been told this before departure.

Port Vila, Efate, Vanuatu

3 out of 5
We did a ship snorkelling tour - was incredible. The markets were good, but sellers here were far more pushy. Also local tour guides were hanging out at one end of the market hassling people to do a trip with them. That was annoying. We didn't end up going into town.
