Review summary

We returned from our trip on Voyager of the Seas about 3 weeks ago. We loved it! I was impressed we could board early and enjoy a buffet lunch. The size of our jr suite was nice and our private deck size was impressive. The food overall was ok. It is like attending a big wedding reception, it is hard to keep the food hot for so many people. The beef selections can only be prepared 1 of 2 temperatures, medium and medium well. The activities offered on board were great. The minigolf was a lot of fun. The rock climbing wall impressive. The roller skating area is a joke. It is an area smaller than 200 yards and an irregular oval at best. The work out area seems cramped with machine upon machine. Be careful booking excursions on line and calling the 800 number provided to assist you when choosing excursions. In Labadee, they offer an excursion in Malfini that states snorkeling, however our guide told us they haven't offered snorkeling in some time due to insurance issues. We paid a lot of money for that excursion and were disappointed. When going into Mexico you are ferried over. If you have a charter excursion you go out one way and if you are exploring on your own a different ferry takes you in to Mexico. Our guide left us and the ferry people wanted $60 more dollars to return us to the ship. Since it was a charter excursion our ferry to and from the ship were included. However the guide failed to give us our tickets to get back on the ferry. The 800 number for ship assistance does not work from the Mexican pay phones. And no ship representative is located where the charter ferry docks, nor does the ship provide you with information where they are ferrying the other guests in at. The entertainement is excellent, especially the comedy. The compass which informs you of the daily activities is nice. We hated that the week ended so soon.

Sea Turtle Snorkel started out with only us a family of 3. We were brought to a lagoon which was nice. Before we got there our guide reviewed what fish we could try to find in a picture book. Because the ocean was so ruff our guide allowed us to stay an extra hour snorkeling in the lagoon. We missed our ferry back to the ship, which we did not see as a big deal since the ship was not leaving til 7 PM. However our guide refused to give us our tickets to get back on the ferry stating she was responsible for us and had to sign us back on. We agreed to meet in 20 minutes. We never actually left the spot near the ferry dock where we agreed to later meet. Our guide never came back. The gentlemen we had seen our guide sign us out with intially, assured us our guide would return. The men who ran the ferry stated no ticket no ride unless we paid another $60. The 800 number to reach the ship for assistance does not work on Mexican pay phones.

I called the 800 number to verify you could snorkel on Malfini and they provided the snorkeling gear. In reality you cannot unless you bring your own snorkel gear. Very disappointed that spent a lot of money for nothing.

Turtles, Sting Ray Land and Sea Adventure. The best Grand Cayman has to offer. We enjoyed sting rays in Jamaica better only because we were in calmer water. The visit to Hell is too brief to send out more than a couple of post cards.

Although the van ride over to this excursion is far longer than the brochure states as well as extremely rugged it, it is far worth it. The people there are very friendly and helpful. Do not really expect to snorkel though. You are in a big sectioned off lagoon with over 30 sting rays. The only snorkeling is a few minutes of looking at some coral. But all the time one on one practically with the staff and the sting rays makes this a don't miss!
