Voyager of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 10, 2007

Ship: Voyager of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 17 years ago

Review summary

The ship was the absolute best I have ever sailed on - I have sailed on Majesty and Monarch of the Sea and this is by far the best ship - The crew however, has not near as enjoyable as either one of the other Royal carribean Cruise Lines. The room was absolutely fantastic...The food excellent and the promenade was beautiful. The casino was fun though the video poker machines were way too tight.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Alergic to garlic and could not even get a lobster tail or steak without garlic seasoning. The first night we were dining on deck 6 - the two of us, my mother-in-law, and one other couple - the next efternoon - all 5 of us received notices that we had been moved - not together but at different times and different floors - after checking with the folks that took our table I found out that they were a family and did not get to sit together the first night so they gave them our table. The mater dei told us one of the ocubles requested being split up - and that was not true. They finally found a tbale to put the 5 of us together but it was all so wrong.

Entertainment

I forget the black comedians name from the second night - but I have never laughed so heard in my life. He was great.

Service and Staff

Staff seem to tell distruths -- I wish they were honest - I would have understood 1.) The Mater Dei story above -- 2.) Windjammer greeter would'nt let us eat in an area closing- he said he was just back on another side -- He never left his post in the 7 days - why did he have to lie - & the other side had no room- we ate outside. -- 3.) Head waiter said I could only have lobster with garlic butter and that if I could 'nt eat it then I should select something else - another waiter overheard the conversation & brought me a lobster with a cup of non-garlic butter. 4.) When we made our reservations we were concerned the flight to Miami gave us too little time to board. We got our luggage & the RC Rep took us to an area to wait in...then took us to another area ... then a third area - Finally we asked another RC Rep - & she said if you're on the Voyager you better take a taxi - you'll never make it. By the time we boarded - the rest of the cruisers were going thru lifeboat practice.
