The cruise was decent. The food wasn't that great but the staff and entertainment was wonderful. The DJ on the ship was obviously unqualified for the position due to his poor performance over the 8 days. We ended up skipping the Miami port because of a storm so it turned into another boring sea day instead. I'd do another cruise with Royal Caribbean but one without so many sea days.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Everything was clean and maintained frequently.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools, Hot Tub, Rock-Climbing, Badminton, Bingo, Casino, Bag Toss. My main complaints are that the hot tub jets blew cold and my family waited at the outdoor Rock-climbing station for 30 minutes to find out they weren't going to show up because it was too cold outside.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
All of the stage shows were decent. The Broadway performances and musicals were entertaining. The first comedian was mediocre and too family friendly for us so we left during that one. There was another comedian near the last night and he was hilarious. The DJ on the ship was absolutely terrible. His name was DJ Anton and he played the same exact playlist every single night. In addition, he played sped up versions of our favorite songs so they sounded like chipmunks.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was so kind and helpful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship layout can use improvement. Common areas were cleaned well but some hallways did have horrible smells.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The size, comfort, and cleanliness was fine, but there was a terrible smell in the bathroom that we could not get rid of. Also, there is a terribly loud clanking noise every morning that woke us up.
Ship tip
Be prepared for a long trip because time goes by slow.
We’ve booked this cruise for Feb , she’s one of the older ships & we sailed on her in Oct 22 , dated in parts , yes , but we still had a good time . If sea days bore you
I suggest an oasis class ship like Harmony or symphony ! Been on both and both great too
Thank you for your review. I think for you, you determined sea days aren't for you. Many people go cruising for actual sea days to just relax. Others want to get off the ship at every port. And others want a sea day only to break up the port days. So, my opinion is only book cruises that meet your expectations.
