Review summary

I was a solo cruiser on this one, and it was perfect for me. I was seated at a table at dinner with seven other solo cruisers, and we got along well. The on-board activities were there if you felt like participating, and there was plenty of space to just lay out if sitting in the sun was what you wanted. The amount of excursion options was great, and the Rainforest Zipline in St. Maarten's and Mini Speed Boat in St. Kitts were definitely highlights of my trip.

Embarkation

Small embarkation moved quickly and never felt overhwhelming.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
It was a 12-night cruise, and there was a different menu in the main dining room every night with a different theme, and all the food I had was excellent!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The sports activities were fun, and there was a good amount of trivia. But the centrum wasn't a good location for the game shows with little seating making post-dinner activities limited.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
For a small ship, the level of entertainment was amazing and very good. Only one night of the 12-night cruise was disappointing as they showed a movie rather than have live entertainment.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiter Manoj was attentive and told fun stories in between timely serving. Sanchez, the stateroom attendant, made new towel animals every day and was very good at consistently cleaning the room.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The 12 nights I was there, personally I did not experience many issues. However, the 7th floor had a bad stench as I walked up that area throughout the cruise and there was flooding on a few different floors on our journey.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
More than enough room for me as a solo traveler. Bathroom was fine. Would love to have actual doors rather than a sheet for the shower, but it's an older ship. Also, behind me was a storage area for staff, and I could hear bags being dragged in that room at certain points.

Ship tip

It will likely be an older crowd. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it has the charm of all Royal cruises and it is a less overwhelming experience. You won't get lost on the ship, but you won't want to spend more than three sea days in a row on it, either.

People asking you for taxis when you got off the ship at this port was extremely overwhelming. But my excursion once I got away from that was great.

Disembarkation

Wonderful. I did self-assist, waited in no lines and got to my pickup in record time.
