Dismal food. Windjammer was basically dog food and the main dinning room was tolerable but not great. The ship was very nice with exceptional staff. Ports of calls were wonderful and the excursion offered through Royal were great. If not for the food this was a 5 star trip but because the food which we NEVER had an issue with on any other Royal ship was so horrendous it made it a 2+ to 3 star experience. M

Food and Dining

We have cruised over 30 times with Royal Caribbean and we have never experienced such awful food on any of their other ships. It was the talk of the ship the whole week. The windjammer which I have never had an issue with was dismal at best People walked around with empty plates. They highlighted fries, Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, burgers and hot dogs for DINNER and lunch. The center circle which is usually where the food is was only desserts which was a little odd. The one side area that was open for dinner had fruit, salad, pasta with watery red sauce as well as a white pasta with left over breakfast bacon every night. I saw NO red meat at the carving station but 1 day. I did carnival cruise line 1 time and vowed never to go back but the food I experienced on this cruise was at the same level as Carnival. They even had baked beans everyday???? Never did I think this would be possible with Royal. This was our 4th cruise this year but the other ships food was great. Perhaps they need to bring a new head chef on board but whatever is causing this food disaster serious changes need to be made. It appeared the main dinning room was having issues as well. We looked at the menu and on one of the nights 3 choices offered were fried chicken, hamburger or macaroni and cheese with lobster. I couldn’t believe it.
It’s a shame such a nice ship with a great crew also doesn’t have even descent food which is a huge part of cruising. If this ship had better food this ships overall experience would have been 5 stars but the food really brought it down to 3 stars and almost 2 stars.

Entertainment

Only good show was a last minute emergency fill in rock band. Best show we have seen in 7 years on Royal since cutting back on really good outside entertainers
Service and Staff

Best staff we ever had on 30+ cruises on Royal. Can’t say enough great things about all of them.
Ship Quality

Very clean ship. For an older ship she was wonderful. Not to many people
Cabin / Stateroom

It was clean and in good condition with great water pressure/shower head.
Ship tip
Be prepared for below sub par food unless RCCL makes quick changes to correct this huge problem on this ship
Hope it improves by the Christmas cruise! Don’t know anything else about the Windjammer issues but I do know that baked beans are a staple of British food. They eat it in a full English breakfast and put it on toast and on a baked potato! So that might be the reason for the abundance of baked beans!
My wife and I were on the same cruise. Stateroom 7600. There was a carving station at the park Cafe in the solarium everyday. Oddly enough, but not in the windjammer. Go figure that one out. We had a wonderful time though, always do. My wife and I never eat off the buffet on any of our Cruises except for cheese and crackers, that's it. Our excursion was cancelled in Bermuda do to the weather.
Aaahhh hahahah. "Dog food" love it!! Well, I'll never sail on Carnival (except Cunard, I LOVED my cruise on Qn. Elizabeth)or Royal Caribbean anyway. They aren't my style
