Review summary
I went on this cruise with one of my best friends who had never been on a cruise. We only visited one port, but it was Cozumel, one of my all-time favorite places to visit. My friend had never been scuba diving, so we booked a Discover Scuba Dive with a local vendor (www.scubaxoc.com - Ask for Carlos, he’s terrific!). I’d have booked one through Royal, but they did not offer a Discover Scuba Dive on this sailing. The ship felt like it had been well taken care of, and only showed its age the way a fine wine shows its age. I think Vision-class ships may be my favorite, because they have a lot of windows allowing seeing the water from anywhere on board. Vision had a lot of really nice spots to sit and just enjoy the passing scenery, or take in the water views with your favorite beverage. I spent a good bit of time in the Solarium, which is an indoor environment. It did get fairly warm in there, but taking a quick dip into the pool was a nice respite from that. I found there was always ample room and enough chairs to be able to have a seat especially on sea days. I LOVE that Royal was able to put an Izumi on this ship, and the location is great; just off the Viking Crown Lounge. Your cruise will not be complete without a visit up to Izumi.Embarkation

Ship tip
Vision isn’t the newest ship in the fleet, but it’s been well taken care of and has plenty of life left in her. At no point did I feel like I was on an old ship, but the ship debuted in 1998.
