Review summary

The cruise was not what we are accustomed to. My family has taken between 5 and 6 cruises with Carnival. There was only one pool for the kids and no slides, and not many activities for children or adults on the Vision of the Seas by Royal Caribbean. The game room, if that's what you call it was not big enough for 4 kids to fit in comfortably. The little piece of rock climbing wall was sad and the accommodations were dated. We couldn't access our sign and sail cards from our room t.v., there was no iron available to iron our own cloths, so we had to pay additional for the laundry to press them for us. I do not plan to cruise with Royal Caribbean again but If we decided to it definitely would not be on this ship.

Embarkation

We were cruising with my daughter's high school dance team. The person in charge of checking identification and assigning rooms was VERY rude and so was the woman working with him. When people pay the kind of money we did for a vacation and it begins with people being rude and unprofessional makes me rethink cruising with Royal Caribbean again. My family and I cruise often with Carnival and not once in nine years have we encountered that type of rude behavior.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dinning room service was simply amazing. Even in the Windjammer the service was top notch. I enjoyed the food but the service made the food even better. This is the ONE reason I would reconsider cruising with Royal Caribbean.

Main Dining Room

Simply Amazing. The service and the food was more than wonderful.

Onboard Activities

There wasn't much to do. My children, ages 9 and 15 were bored out of their minds. That was the complaint of many parents traveling with us. I guess my family is just use to the fun ships at Carnival. The Vision of the Seas had no slides, there was one pool for the kids, the "game room" had 5-6 games all mashed in the corner of the entrance to the teen hangout. This ship is definitely not for kids.

Children's Programs

My son is 9. The younger program was geared more toward smaller children and the teen program of course was for teens, so he was just kind of left out.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were helpful and very kind.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship's design is not much to write home about. I guess maybe it's one of RC's older ships but it was very clean.
