Review summary

Everything was great.

I was just " mad" at 2 issues.

1. "Crazy" prices on alcoholic drinks. ( Outrageous)

2. The involvement, of me as a passenger, in salary

Of the : water, assistent water, etc.

It's simply, not fair !!!

Well how come Thompson's don't demand tips upfront,,,,,reason they pay a half decent wage ?

Your dining room steward may earn as little as $125 to $175 a week for an 80-90 hour work week, 7 days a week, nine months without a day off. You can see why they depend on tips to make decent living.

Your servers and room attendants are there to make your cruise THE BEST! The least we can do is allow them to have a little extra from us in appreciation for their very hard work. These people work from 8 months to 12 months almost without a day off because they make a better income doing so than they can make in their home country to care for their families. Pls don't be mad at the system...

It is commonly known, within the cruise industry, that your cabin steward and dining room team depend on tips for a big portion of their salary. Most cruise lines automatically add a set amount to your account, but give you the option of adjusting that amount up or down. This information is made very clear on the cruise line's web site. As much as we may not like subsidising the crew's salary through tips, this process has been around since ocean travel began. My habit is to leave the set amount of tips on my account, then give extra cash to my cabin steward, dining room team and others who have provided extra service at the end of my cruise.
