Review summary

The ship was beautifully decorated and service was Excellent. They try really hard to get you to shop, onboard and at the ports. They also push the excursions. Although they offer good options, there are choices available on the dock in Juneau and a short walk up the street in Skagway for a small savings. There is a tram in Juneau that's inexpensive and really fun. It takes you up the mountain in 5 minutes to a great museum, gift store and very nice walking trails. They said there wasn't any shopping in Port Rupert but that's not true. It's a cute village with lots of shops. We rented shooters for 2 hours ($49 each) and had a blast. Casual dining choices were not very impressive and Smoking ruins the casino. If you're bringing a teenage, make sure they have their own forms of entertainment because they will get very bored!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent food in the dining room. Average in the cafes.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Bingo was very expensive ($35 or more/session) but pay-out was big $. Art auctions were annoying and there could have been better entertainment offerings. Evening shows were excellent and very professional, don't miss them!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wonderfully friendly staff. We were treated like royalty by our dining and stateroom staff.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very nice. Not large enough for a lot of entertainment options.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Indoor staterooms are small, quiet and very dark. Which make sleeping easy! They don't provide many goodies so bring your own lotions, conditioner etc. Order room service, it's "free" and very nice.

Ports of call

Prince Rupert, British Columbia

Near the pier is cute and fun. Lots of shops and friendly folks. It's a long day of walking or you can rent scooters for a fun time. It's a beautiful stop with lots of culture. The further you get into town, the dirtier it gets. There appears to be a high poverty rate.
Don't Miss: the Indian museum up the hill from the dock and sitting in the park, enjoying the views.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Take the Tram. It's right off the pier and affordable. We enjoyed the city tour and Mendenhall Glacier trip. Shopping was the biggest waste of time. They push their coupon book and jewelry shopping and most the shops have the same stuff.
Don't Miss: Tram and the Glacier

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Fun shops. Take the Red Onion Saloon tour. It's fun and historically entertaining. White Pass railway trip was awesome but the gold panning was a joke.
Don't Miss: Railway tour

Pros: The food in the Aquarius Dining Room

Cons: Emphasis on Shopping
