The Viking River Cruises are exceptional because they have approximately 90 guests, making it a more intimate and personal experience. There is time to relax and enjoy the tranquility of gliding along some of the world's most famous rivers and viewing the local countryside at a much slower pace. When you can have a vacation experience and not have a thing to complain about, it is truly a wonderful experience.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The meals and beverages are always well prepared and delicious and the Chef and wait staff are always friendly and courteous - seeing to guests every need.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The Riverboat doesn't offer pools, rock-climbing, etc.; however, they don't need to. There are included excursions every day and onboard activities that are culturally enlightening.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The onboard entertainment was first class - the musicians rivaled any you could purchase tickets to see and the quality far surpassed those of other cruises we've taken.
Children's Programs
Viking caters to adults 18 and older.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our every need was attended to immediately, and every employee of Viking was happy, knowledgeable, and so willing to help.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship had clean lines and modern design. All furnishings, both in the cabins and in public areas, were new, clean, and immaculate. It was apparent that maintenance and housekeeping were priority.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was well furnished, bottled water was furnished and replaced multiple times a day at no extra charge, the housekeeping staff was very considerate of guest schedules, and the cabin was always spotless.
Every day there was a tour, included at no extra cost. Viking arranged bus transportation, to the US D-Day Museum, Cemetary, Omaha Beach, and Memorials - which included a full sit down lunch. The Viking quality is amazing.
The Castle built by Richard the Lionhart was up a very steep hike and it was a ruin which couldn't be entered. Opted to tour the town and church instead.
Everything was taken care of - luggage pickup, transportation to the airport, a gude met us getting of the bus at the airport and walked us to the kiosk to ensure we had boarding passes and were headed to the correct gate. Every detail was handled!
I'm glad you had a good trip. We did that itinerary 10 years ago. It is a slower paced trip than we expected. The staff was very nice and professional.
