Review summary

This was an exceptional cruise. Much better than we expected. From the home departure airport, through the cruise and return home. A smooth, professional and very comfortable trip. Thank you.

Embarkation

Air travel and three day pre departure extension in Paris. Smooth operation. I did upgrade plane seating to premium economy. More room. Viking picked us up at the airport and took us to our hotel. The hotel was excellent. Within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. At the end of the extension Viking took us to the boat. Very easy transition.

The food was excellent. I did upgrade to the silver service for drinks. This was very convenient and cost effective.

There were no keep you busy activities. The river cruise is about the destination not the cruise activities. Very comfortable level of interaction with other travelers.

There was a piano player in the evenings. Not overwhelming. Comfortable.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was on the top level, midship. A great location. It had a balcony which enabled us to relax as the ship traveled or remained at the dock. The room was not large but very functional and comfortable.

The hotel was excellent and the metro was easy and efficient. We did meet a couple that had been taken by a pickpocket in a church. We did not choose the planned excursion and headed out on our own. Be polite and they all try to speak to you in English. You need to book the Eiffel Tower a month in advance.
