This is less a comment on the ship, per se, than on excursions to see wildlife. If you want to see bears, take your cruise the last couple of weeks in July, when the salmon are running. You'll have a much greater chance of seeing bears trying to obtain a salmon lunch.

Unlike all the other cruise lines we've sailed on, this is a very quiet atmosphere with generally guests around 70 and up. A good deal of the live music is classical. Vocal performances are excellent, but no production shows, no games/trivia contests, etc. I enjoyed the atmosphere, but one needs to know what to expect and how different it is than other cruise lines. After my first cruise on a Viking ocean ship, I'm still trying to decide which atmosphere I prefer.

Small enough(only about 900 passengers), so no crowds, and very pleasant atmosphere, and attention to details. Focus is on the destinations, so very informative and educational.
