Very disorganized and unprofessional. Rude Management. Only docked at 2 out of 6 ports. Would never recommend Viking to anyone.

Beware of Viking - Transparency and Communication are SERIOUSLY LACKING. Due to low water, we actually had our port visits cut extremely short because we had to be bussed so much. Could have been handled so much better than it was. Due to this, it was a very unpleasant experience.

The canal itself is fine. Docking sites left lots to be desired. Cruising was great - just didn't do much of it!!

Passau, Germany

Loved Passau - just HATED the fact that we had to take a 3 hour round trip to get here. My husband knew we were having to take another 4.5 bus trip the next day, so chose not to go to Passau as he is NOT a bus lover. HAD WE KNOWN we would have to take busses everywhere, we never would have come!

We were SUPPOSED to spend two days at Vienna, but had to leave after our city tour, with the excursions cancelled to get on the boat and move due to low water levels.

Budapest, Hungary

NEVER ACTUALLY DOCKED HERE. Had to take another 4+ hour bus trip to get to Budapest and back and only spent 1.5 hours on a tour and lunch. We were supposed to have ALL DAY and then some here.

Disembarkation

another 2.5 hours to get to the airport so had to get up EXTREMELY EARLY. Our Viking Air managed flight was cancelled and although another Viking ship helped to rebook their passengers the night before, we were never told, nor rebooked, so we were on our own.

I’m presuming that all the disruption was due to low water levels on the Danube?
