It was a great experience. 1st time river cruise.

Embarkation

The transfer from the airport to the ship was included, but they refused and told me to take a taxi. (Although I seen others getting transported to other ships). It was the most frightening experience to be left alone in a different country without any contact to anyone. It was evening. The taxi tried dropping me off at a random building, not the port. I refused to get out. Needless to say......shame on viking for putting me in danger. I was traveling alone.

The food was good but beware alot of it is pre packaged so you can't customize much of it. I understand this is because of the small scale of river cruises but if you are concerned about sodium, you'll be eating alot of lettuce.

Onboard Activities

There is a lounge with a 1 man band. Not much for activities, a few trivia games. They closed the top deck for several days to get through the locks so you felt trapped. Couldn't walk the track or sit in lounge chairs.

Ship tip

You have to take alot of bus rides because generally the ship keeps moving down the river so if you get off at a port you have to take a bus to catch up to it. Also many of the included excursions end in the town so you have to navigate your own way back to the ship. Not pleasant and a bit unsettling if you're traveling alone.
