Wonderful honeymoon by Midge57

Brilliant relaxing cruise. Ok due to engine trouble we missed Cadiz, but when you are on a floating 5 star hotel, who cares. Thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, especially as it was our honeymoon

Had a lovely time on... by lollylolly

Sail date: /
Ship: Ventura

Had a lovely time on Ventura. We were freedom dining in the Cinnamon restaurant. The food was very good. The waiters were very polite and friendly. The entertainment was also very good. We found the ship very lively and I particularly liked the Exchange pub. We had to miss one port as there was a problem with the ship, but the captain did not give a very good explanation as to what was wrong! Both embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly.

Not as good as previous visits by sailingthe7seas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Canaries

Apart from p&o taking little items away ie sweets from roon etc. And filling fridges with unwanted drinks. It could also have had some money spent on upgrading rooms. Ie decor etc. Still looking a bit tired and just after a refit!!!!!

Wonderful Atlantic cruise by Dixsdolphins

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Canaries

Fantastic service but was a shame they ran out of Carling on day 8! Also drink prices are quite high, £19 for a bottle wine which is £6 in the shops and £3.95 for a can of Carling which was €0.99 in the shop in Madeira!! They no longer put your bill on your tv screen in your room, you have to queue up at reception to get a print out, of the printer is working!!!! Food was lovely & plenty of it. Cabin staff were fantastic. All the ports we visited were great, with open top bus tours right at the port entrance, which was great. Disembarkation was quick and early!

Great cruise bit of a party atmosphere on the short Amsterdam/ Bruges itinerary’s the food was great. Apart from the buffet aka smash-N-grab. Which was manic and the food was nothing special.

Done the Belgium and Amsterdam... by daewoomills

Sail date: /
Ship: Ventura

Done the Belgium and Amsterdam on the Ventura. found staff was not so happy as they were on Britannia wouldn't go on the Ventura again. Seems to be anywhere outside you can smoke did not like this at all especially around the pool area where food was. should be dedicated to one side of the ship.

Enjoyable cruise on Ventura by jeo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Canaries

The biggest let down was the food very repetitive in main restaurants & very disappointing in Waterfront buffet service , getting a table was a big problem most of the time. The smokers congregated around the food tables around pool area. Excellent service & staff , great entertainment but not enough seats in all the venues we ended up standing some of the time. . Lots to do in the day & enjoyed all the lectures etc . Metropolis bar really relaxing and quieter but still had entertainment

Got back 24th Nov 17.... by royhel

Sail date: /
Ship: Ventura

Got back 24th Nov 17. This was only ok due to poor entertainment except Matt & Sarah and the pianist. Food was just Ok in main restaurants but average in buffet and pool areas. Staff pretty good in general but we had to untie the sun beds ourselves due to lack of crew. Rosalie our cabin steward was wonderful ! Toilet in cabin overflowed twice but dealt with promptly. We heard this happen s quite regularly. Speciality dining was very good and reasonably priced. Highlights we're meeting Anthony who is responsible for all beverages on board inc beers, wines, coffees teas etc . Also met Ollie Smith in his bar the Glasshouse, what a great guy. Overall an okay cruise but Ventura really does need to tighten up with its hand disinfecting,go on Celebrity cruises and see what I mean. Also refit next March is much needed. Will not be rushing back for a P&O cruise.

Loved the ship, had no... by frogemax

Sail date: /
Ship: Ventura

Loved the ship, had no issues with the ship at all. Very clean and well looked after. Enjoyed the Canaries and loved Madeira & Lisbon. I thought the entertainment could be hit and miss - the headliners were very good but got fed up with tribute acts virtually every night. Prices were very reasonable in both the shops and the bars. We found the food and service in the main dining room very good and ok in the buffet. One real downer was kids dive bombing in the pool. I wouldn't go in the pools because I can't stand fighting through kids who's main aim is to jump in as near to people as they can get. It seems parents didn't bother to sort them out. Also found the spa very expensive - my nails broke so I went to have them done properly - spent over an hour listening to the technician trying to sell me so much rubbish that I didn't need or want. Then paid a fortune for the privilege. However, have booked P&O again but trying a different ship. Would do Ventura again but never near to a school holiday. (This cruise was at the end if a 1/2 term break). It's not that I don't like children, it's that I don't like parents who don't control them.
