Review summary

Overall we had a lovly time on P&Os Venture and would definatly do again (:

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was super quick and straightforward. Rooms were ready a couple minutes after boarding the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food in the buffet was nice, there was the option of a roast lunch every day. Not a huge range of food in the buffet. Loved the afternoon tea from the buffet tho. (: The food in the MDR was amazing. Ioved having breakfast there as the hot breakfast was superb and the service was great like always. Dinners in the MDR had the staple food that was on the menu each night and other dishes changed each night. Just wished I had lunch there more. The pizza bar by the pool was so nice especially as it was just a quick lunch to have by the pool.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Had a wide range of activities on board. Loved the karaoke, craft-making sessions and all of the game shows played in the Havana bar.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Loved the live Caribbean band music that played by the outdoor pool, really just made you feel like you were on holiday. The DJ by the outdoor pool was amazing and I loved participating in the Guess the Song game that took place most days. Sail always where AMAZING, it was such a good environment where songs were played and everyone joined in and sang along

Arena Theatre

5 out of 5

Such amazing shows. My favourite show was the magic show so if you get a chance to see it, go along and watch, as the audience can get involved and do their own magic.

Havana

4 out of 5

Loved sitting here for pre-dinner drinks and watching the amazing singers perform.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were amazing as usual super friendly and was able to help with any problems or questions we had. The service in the MDR was very good and the drinks waiter remembered what drinks we liked and had them on our table ready for when we went down for dinner.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Considering it is an older ship I was not expecting much but omg when we stepped on board we did not even notice that it was an older ship. Everything was clean and updated. Loved the size of the ship as well as it was easy to navigate and not overcrowded. One thing that does need a little revamp is the rooms, as they where a little dated. (:

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Lovely room, but defiantly a little dated. Did not feel so small or closed in for an inside cabin. My only complaint was that I did hit my head a few times on the overhead beds when they weren't pulled down

Ship tip

Definitely find a seat by the pool early if you want one, as it does get busy quickly. (:

Ports of call

La Palma, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
We explored la Palma ourselves and walked around the towns and went in lots of little local shops. We also went on a walk down the black sand beach.

Tenerife, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
We booked a shore excursion with P&O to go to Tenafifes' biggest water park Siam Park. It was not too busy and we got on many different water rides. There was not much shade around to get out of the sun, and highly recommended bringing water shoes or Crocs as the ground gets very hot. There is food that you can purchase there and lots of loungers to sit on.

Gran Canaria

4 out of 5
We took a transfer to Maspalomas Beach. There was a big swimming event on at the time when we went so it was very busy and most of the water activities were not on due to this. Would definitely like to come back to this port when it is less busy.

Southampton (London), England

4 out of 5
Southampton cruise ports was quite easy to navigate round and parking was super quick and easy.

Funchal, Madeira

5 out of 5
Loved Maderia, such a beautiful port. We had booked this shore excursion with P&O and enjoyed ourselves the whole day

Arrecife, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

4 out of 5
We explored the town of Lanzarote and went and looked in lots of clothing shops and department stores. ( plaza De San Juan de Dios )

Lisbon, Portugal

5 out of 5
When we get off the ship there were lots of open-top buses outside so we decided to take a trip and go site seeing on an Olentop bus.

Cadiz (Spain)

5 out of 5
We have already been to Cadiz before so we only had a walk around ourselves. It is a lovely port and love going back to Cadiz

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Super quick and easy. Left our luggage outside our room the night before for it to be taken and we collected it when we got off the ship with no problems. Had plenty of time to have breakfast before our time to disembark.
