Review summary
Although my husband and I had a wonderful time, I am not sure I would sail with Holland America again and if I do I would make sure that is on one of their larger vessels. The staff was wonderful, but this cruise line seems to cater to an older wealthier group of people.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was fine, fairly smooth.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was great, only thing I found is that they often ran out of cut fruit.
Terrace Grill
5 out of 5
It was called Pinnacle Grill on our cruise, but this by far was the best meal of the trip.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
My favorite was America's test kitchen.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Wasn't really my cup of tea.
Wajang Theater
4 out of 5
the popcorn was a nice touch.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
There were a lot of minor maintenance issue that should have been taken care of. i.e. broken windows in the main dining room, a couple of dripping pipes that looked to be a little rusted, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Although it was nice to have the couch, for me it would have been better to have more room for our suitcases and other items.
Ship tip
Be prepared to feel the sway the entire cruise. This is a small ship than I have been on before and on that one I never felt the motion of the ship.
I loved Puerto Rico, and even though we had a long time in port, the shops were mostly closed after dinner. we are night night life people so there was nothing to do but return to the ship after dinner.
Although we liked the Eco Lagoon tour, the food was just okay (I would have preferred to go back aboard for lunch if we had time.) the beach was nice. The shopping was okay. We were very disappointed to learn that we could not shop in one of the stores. It was only for guests of the Eurodam. We were not told ahead of time and there was no signage at the store indicating that.
