Review summary
I liked the idea of cruising and being able to stop into different ports and explore the various provinces of Canada. I was very unhappy with how my food was prepared after being very clear with our cruise director, the waiters and with the chef. If I had known, I wouldn't have taken the cruise and done my own vacation. I had already spent a week in Montreal and I could've stayed a few more days and then gone onto Quebec City. I'm very clear on how my body best responds to food and the less salt, oil and sugar, the better for me. I will do another vegan cruise but this time with Holistic Holidays at Sea or with a different vegan cruise company.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I requested from the cruise planners that my gluten-free vegan meals be made without salt, oil or sugar. They could not get this right and I was having to send back plate after plate. Finally, the waiter provided me with an advanced dinner menu for the next night and I crossed off what I didn't want, circled what I wanted and wrote in big letters, "Please prepare my meal without salt, oil or sugar." The chef Pablo and his team could not get this right. Everything was heavily salted and things sat in oil. I was not pleased especially since I was guaranteed whole food plant based meals without gluten or sugar, oil or salt.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
I paid extra to use the thermal spa and heated ceramic lounges because it was summer and there were too many kids on the boat splashing in the pools and the hot tubs. I think it's a crime to make people pay to use the fitness centers and I think they need to dedicate a pool area for adults only.
Entertainment
I did not go to the bars or to the shows or to the casinos. I don't drink, there were smokers in the casino and I was tired after a full day of activities on land.
Children's Programs
No one from our vegan cruise traveled with children.

Ship tip
Do not waste your money on the ship stores or for spa services. You can call ahead and book for anything in a port of call. Do you really need the items that are sold on the ship? Overpriced. Make memories by doing things. And beware of the excursions. They crowd you into buses and motorcoaches and they don't give you enough time to explore on your own.
I did an excursion with our vegan group where we took a motor coach around the area. I did not like it at all. There was no time to explore the city. We spent all our time in the coach listening to a guy drone on and on. The only highlight was Montmorency Falls. I could've done that on my own with a taxi.
I stayed three nights in Boston when the ship returned. I did not do an excursion. I had a blast on the Duck Tour that I booked on my own and visited museums and great vegan restaurants.
