The ship was very clean and well-maintained--very little difference than it was two years ago.

We were disappointed that our original excursion (a cultural presentation) was cancelled. Instead we did the "catamaran sail and snorkel" but discovered that the "sail" was really just a very crowded motorized catamaran and the water was a bit chilly for a snorkel. The beach was very crowded and there were no chairs available because of the large number of other cruise passengers there.

The beach resort was the best we visited--lots of chairs, good music, drinks, etc., however, the free beach and pool right in port were very nice, too. Shopping was more upscale here, but also much more expensive.

The beach excursion was very nice and the pool was large and inviting. It wasn't at all crowded and the BBQ lunch was quite good. Shopping next to the dock is good and we also enjoyed the local dancers.

Key West is close to home for us so we didn't book an excursion.

Pros: Both the food and the service were terrific!

Cons: Gym equipment not well-maintained and no one seemed to be responsible for it.

Recommends Veendam? Yes!
