Review summary
We enjoyed sailing with the Vendaam from Tampa to Key West, Belize, Guatemala and Costa Maya. The itinerary is excellent for a 7-day cruise. If you are interested in visiting archelogical sites, the choice that you have on this cruise is incredible. Shore excursion staff goes above and beyond their duties and we will never forget our trip to Tikal! Aboard the Vendaam, you definitely feel a more European atmosphere than on other lines (we cruised Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Disney). Spectacular antique pieces can be admired on most decks. Pool area is not great and in line with the age of the ship, as well as room size. Staff is outstanding, excellent presentation of food, but average quality. Movie theater screen are poor, but the library area is very interesting!!!Ports of call
Santo Tomas De Castilla, Guatemala
Pros: The shore excursions
Cons: Pool and shops
Recommends Veendam? Yes!
