Review summary

Just finished a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on Symphony. It was such a great experience! Here’s my review: Embarkation: smooth and easy! Arrived at port at 10:30, was all checked in and waiting to board at 11. Even though one gangway was down, it was still quick. Room: we had an ocean view balcony 7th floor mid-ship. It was lovely and had tons of storage. We had our balcony opened up to our kids rooms on either side and that was great. Our room attendant Jeremie was great and made the cutest towel animals. Also had a bucket of ice in our room each day. Only complaint is the firm mattress. 😫 Food: MDR food was okay. Not amazing, but not bad. We had my-time dining which was convenient for us. One night we did Izumi Hibachi which was tons of fun. And another night we enjoyed Sangria at Vintages (they have it every night and it’s the best on the ship) and ordered a bunch of “small plate” appetizers from Jaimes next door. It was so good! The pizza at Sorrentos was pretty darn good, and the room service breakfast was just ok. Breakfast at Johnny Rockets was good and free! We visited El Loco Fresh most sea days for lunch/snacks. The fresh Pico/guacamole was so good! Also....try Solarium Bistro. We had breakfast and a dinner there. It was lovely. The dinner was especially good. (Remember no charge there, but reservations for dinner are recommended) Drinks: We originally had just the refreshment package, but decided to upgrade to the deluxe package after our first drink. Hey- it’s VACATION TIME!! We enjoyed the package and feel it was worthwhile. Our teens also loved using our cards at the bionic bar to select non-alcoholic drink combinations. (They had the refreshment package, but an adult card is needed to activate Bionic bar. ) There’s a whole bunch of choices for non-alcoholic drinks. Fun! Entertainment: Hairspray was awesome, as was 1977 and Hiro. We missed Flight, as it was too late for us and we were tired! I was lucky to get a reservation for Lazer tag as soon as we boarded, but the only time available was 9:30 am, and my teens said that was way too early, so we cancelled. We also enjoyed the Symphony Orchestra in Jazz in 4, and a band performing in Dazzles. Excursions: All were booked thru the ship. We didn’t enjoy the Jeep tour in St. Maarten, and based on a problem we had with the tour operator (which I wont go into here), we complained to Royal and they made things right. We LOVED our ferry ride from St. Thomas to St. John Trunk Bay. So amazing and the most beautiful place I have ever been! And in Nassau we splurged and took the kids to Atlantis. Such fun!! Disembarking: We did self-carry luggage and walked off at 7:45. Used facial recognition scan at customs and was curbside waiting for our Jiffy Jeff shuttle within 10 minutes. It was amazing! We just LOVED Symphony and are so glad we chose this ship!!

Thanks for the review...you touched on many areas I had not considered, and addressed some concerns as well. I’m excited about my group’s (22) upcoming trip in early May. Thanks again.
