Review summary

Definitely recommend this cruise as it's an interest to anyone from Australia and overseas.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Walked straight into the Fremantle Cruise terminal and virtually straight onto the ship, 10 minutes all up. Same terminal 18 months ago was a 2 hour wait.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
No complaints here, was basically and Aussie cruise so all food reflected that. There was also international themed nights such as Asian and German, all wonderful.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Not a fitness freak so didn't use the gym but the pool deck was a wonderful place to spend hours lounging in the sun. A quick snack from the Terrace grill and a cocktail from Topside bar meant you you don't have to go more than a few feet from your spot at the pool to get refreshed.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
British Invasion stage show of music from the sixties was delightful with wonderful music, props and costumes. A classically based pianist and cellist in Crooners bar was highly entertaining. Not my type of music but the performers passion for their music and their interaction with the guests made for a wonderful experience.

Children's Programs

No kids with us and I'm way too old😏

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I can't for the life of me remember the room stewards name, it was difficult to pronounce but he was wonderful. He wasn't like some of them that can get in your face and always seem to pop up at the most inconvenient moment but like a friendly ghost, not often seen but appears right at the time needed and provided an exceptional service. All staff members greated you and couldn't help you enough, there were no exceptions.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Can't complain about the presentation of the ship even considering the age of the vessel, some rust and loose fittings here and there but nothing really to detract for the wonderful experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Usually choose a mini suite for our travels as we like the extra room to relax in, none were available at time of booking so a balcony cabin was chosen. Two people always seemed to be tripping over each other and with only one chair there was always someone that had to use the bed to sit, this is not a faut with the ship but our preferences.

Ship tip

Don't expect too much luxury on this old girl because of her age but she still gets the job done and has a wonderful atmosphere.

Ports of call

Fremantle (Perth), Australia

5 out of 5
"Freo" is a wonderful historic city with a diverse European style restaurant culture, many, many places to enjoy local amd international cuisine.

Port Lincoln, Australia

5 out of 5
Port Lincoln is built on the fishing industry and some amasing multi million dollar homes can be seen dotting the hillsides.

Melbourne, Australia

4 out of 5
Melbourne is always a city to visit with its extensive shopping it's multi cultural restaurant areas.

Burnie, Tasmania, Australia

5 out of 5
Amazing town built on the paper production industry. The town is inhabited by friendly tourist driven folk who genuinely happy that you came to enjoy their part of the world.

Kangaroo Island, Australia

4 out of 5
Didn't see a whole lot of K.I. due to the recent bushfire devastation but contributed to the recovery and rebuilding of the islands infrastructure and facilities ans did all passengers and crew. This was done by donations or buying local products.

Adelaide, Australia

5 out of 5
Never miss a opportunity to visit this wonderful historic city with its limestone facade buildings and wide Avenue style streets. Hahndorf in the hills outside Adelaide is a quaint German town inhabited by many descendants of orginal German folk that came to this area to build a better life after being persecuted in their original country for their religious beliefs. The main streets of Hahndorf are collection of shops and pubs reflecting those of the original towns in Germany.

BUSSELTON (MARGARET RIVER), AUSTRALIA Did not visit port

Due to a rough crossing of The Great Australian Bight, there wasn't time to call into this port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
From meeting place in tthe Vista Lounge to collecting the luggage took a whole 5 minutes, very quick.
