7 Night Alaska Inside Passage With Tracy Arm Fjord (Seattle Roundtrip)
Sail date: August 25, 2019
Ship:
Star Princess
Traveled as: Couple
Reviewed: 5 years ago
Review summary
Sometimes older ships can be better for certain itineraries. The Star Princess was the right size for Alaska and had a covered pool area. Ship personnel was friendly and helpful at all times. Some of the best food we have had without having to go to specialty dining. Captain Tuvo was interesting and funny. He took pride in his crew and ship which was obvious.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Traditional dining room was very good. Enjoyed having the same wait staff. Food was delicious and served hot. Buffet was limited in choices, but quality was excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Covered pool was always busy with limited room. Steam and sauna rooms were available for no extra charge. Forward hot tubs usually had space and were hot.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Production shows were top-notch. Singers and dancers were brilliant. The magician and comedian we had seen before.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward introduced himself first day and visited regularly. Room was spotless. MDR wait staff was friendly, quick, and knowledgeable about menu. All ship personnel was friendly and helpful. Captain Tuvo mixed with the passengers throughout. Great Captain!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Right size for us. Not difficult to get to all activities with an easy walk. Lines were short except when the forward elevators were not working when the production show let out. Even though many passengers left trash around the staff cleaned up quickly. I like that soap and water washing was required before using buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Balcony cabin was small, but had ample storage. Bathroom is tiny. Room was always very clean. Enjoyed the evening turn down service with chocolates on our pillow.
Ship tip
A great view can be had in Skywalkers Lounge in the aft of ship. Quiet place to relax.
Only walked the downtown area. Not a shopper, but it was okay going into shops (no pushy sales people). Skagway brewery had excellent food and really good beer.
