First and last Princess cruise. Both Holland America and Celebrity offer comparable dining and cruise location experiences AND they avoid the silly small shower and have offerred more attention to detail actoss the board and especially in cruise line sold excursions.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very good organization and rapid boarding with staterooms immediately available.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Outstanding and attentive service from both waiter and assitant for traditional dining experience each nite. Great chef and good menus and food in dining rooms. Buffet compares equally with experience on other lines...nothing outstanding. Specialty steak restaurant nothing great.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Overall so so. Broken main stage equipment and moved venues to other, smaller venue did not work out well.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Excellent for all except excursion and front desk staff.
Ship Quality

Tiny shower in upgraded larger veranda stateroom on Star Princess is terrible. Not enough room to bend over to wash legs and feet while remianing inside the shower. Silly design seems crammed in at last minute.
Otherwise cleanliness and care to clean each day is fine.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Tiny shower overwhelms all good things about otherwise industry standard veranda stateroom.
Lots of fun with best weather of trip. After getting confirmed excursion months before trip we were informed that this excursion had been incorrectly cancelled. They did get it reinstated/rebooked but concern was needless. Overall, general lack of excursion detail evident in all but one excursion.
Cruise line controlled diembarkation experience and their transfer to airport fine. Baggage procedures and generally substandard everything about LAX is atrocious. Avoid if at all possible. Example: on Delta if you are flying out of terminal 3 to Atlanta or 5 other major cities you have to turn in your bage at terminal 2. So you are delivered to treminal 3, then told to drag bags to terminal 2, then walk back to terminal 3 to walk forever again to last gates then hunt for seats in grossly overcrowded waiting area amid 4 or 5 gates all in one place. The whole wirport experience is horrible. Avoid!
