As far as being my number 30 Cruz ever in my life I find that princess was not up to par with what I have heard about for many years being as though it was the love boat I was expecting a little bit more but all in all I love to cruise and haven't had a really bad experience on any cruise that I have taken. There some dues and don'ts but every cruiseship is great as long as I am out to see and don't have to cook and clean any cruise is good for me
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It was very slow to load up the ship we arrived at the port at approximately 1030 and told us that there was a delay in the Coast Guard. Inspection time is the excuse they Used. We did not get on the ship until 130 in the afternoon at that time we were told are rooms were ready but we still had to wait another 30 minutes until 2 o'clock before we could actually get into our room. All in all when you're getting ready to sail....and you're on the ship and you found the bar no problems are big anymore .!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We found the buffet very lacking items to choose from. We also found the dining room menu very minimalized. Since it used to be quite a bit of different selections now have they have Cutting back quite a bit on the selections you can pick from. Also we find that the service for getting drinks while you were having dinner in the dining room is extremely slow. It's best that you bring your drink in with you and tell them immediately when you sit down that you want to drink that way you can have it by the time your meal is finished
Vines Bar
5 out of 5
I did enjoy going to the vines bar and having a specialty glass of champagne that was not offered on the beverage package location at any other place on the ship it was a great place to sit close to the piazza to watch people watch we also appreciated that they had little appetizers at no extra charge when you were sitting in the vine bar either a different sushi each day or a different little tapas all in all we thought this was an excellent place to sit in the center of the ship in the atrium ..the service was good and quick.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Play lots of trivia for times a day. Went on the trivia team that was number three of 25 teams that won all kinds of subjects for trivia. But mostly the music trivia was my Best. As myself with four other team members I won the music trivia all by myself with no assistance I was given a bottle of champagne for my price. All the other trivia games that are team won was only given small little tokens as a keychain a wine stopper a plastic coaster and a lanyard. Not very good gifts but still little souvenirs that I will be glad to pass along to friends to let them know that I was on a cruise and they were not ..
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Only attended one show of the 15 days while we were at see the only thing I thought were the of saying was the Hawaiian spectacular that they put on the night that we were in port in Honolulu. Only missed the first 15 minutes of it because we did not notice they were doing it and we were at sure looking around the city. The rest of the entertainment was pretty boring and pretty cheesy if you ask me ..
Explorers Lounge
4 out of 5
I did enjoy the explorers lounge I thought the service and there was excellent and also the trivia games were mostly held in there and there was plenty of room it was very nice area to sit in lots of different table areas to relax Inn during the day when nothing was going on if you wanted to just sit back read a book or just watch the people walk by this was a very nice area on the ship I thought .
Explorers Lounge

Excellent service from the little Chinese girl and the little Chinese boy that waited on us. We cannot pronounce her name when I ask what the Little Chinese boys name it he quoted and he said it means very handsome man. So every time we went to the explorers lounge to get a drink we always ask for the very handsome man to service. He knew our drinks exactly he was very funny to have someone with a great personality serving us drinks all the time that we knew
Children's Programs
No kids please we have never taken a child on a cruise. I find that cruising should be for adults as we work with children at our regular jobs where we go on vacation we will be totally child free
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
We found that the staff on the princess starship was pretty even with other crew ships that we have taken although several times if we passed a officer in the public areas we were surprised to notice that they look down or that they look straight ahead they did not acknowledge us in the least. We find this very concerning. As in Carnival ships and especially on Hollin they would address us and ask how are you doing. Maybe princesses cruises have been around for a long time but I think they need a little bit more in the personality department from the high-ranking officials. After all we do pay their salary... don't we? ..a little slow on serving drinks in the dinning room! very slow..some never showed up at all..maybe my bev pkg was to blame..
Ship Quality

ok for cleaniness.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
We always Cruz with the obstructed view cabins it gives us light but we do not care to have a view as we are not in the room that often. We did appreciate that the princess cruise lines has remove the doors from their closet and it is a long solid bar for clothing very easy to get to and to decide what you have hanging in that closet. The bathroom showers were so small that we found ourselves using the spa shower which was quite a bit larger. We did appreciate that the view we had out of obstructed view was of the lifeboats but still we could see quite a bit of the ocean and of the land when we were docked in the ports I recommend this if you would like to save Money always asked for the obstructed view which there are plenty on the cruise And they are quite a bit more reasonable than the ocean view not as cheap as the inside cabins but just a little bit more.
Ship tip
dont invest in the $1035 bev pkg...that is not worth it..!
Nice port nice area lots of things to do you can walk the whole area and do lots of things on your own without having to pay the high price of an excursion. Great shopping area right off the tenders. The only port in the Hawaii cruise itinerary that we had to take the tenders in. But it was pretty quick and pretty nice once you got there .
As we live in San Diego and it is only a two-hour ride to Ensenada for us. We did not find disport anything exciting to do very dirty your shoes and your clothes got very dusty. If you want to going to town for a quick beer and watch the locals begging for money. Otherwise we stayed under the ship this time and did not do anything but wait for us to leave
Although are Call for leaving the ship was it 940 in the morning they were backed up as usual two hours as getting on the ship on the original day in Los Angeles there was a 2 to 3 hour delay of getting on the ship blaming it on the Coast Guard the same excuse the same timing for disembarking when we came back to LA 15 days later don't believe that at all ..we finally got off the ship at 11 AM after having a 9:40 call to get off the ship very slow disembarking...
