Review summary

Watch out Princess will nickel and dime you on every place they can. The internet connection is very poor the paid for restaurants are ok. The regular dining halls have very little choices for those who are trying not to gain weight on a cruise Overall old fashion attitude on everything.

I think the fact of matter is what is better all inclusive or pay as you go. I prefer pay as I go because my wife and I are not big drinkers. But one way or another you will have to pay. There are many cruise lines and all different in their own way.

@jacksonwayne - interesting. We have obviously sailed different lines. When I started cruising almost as long ago as you, the cruise lines didn't have specialty restaurants (upcharge now), featured large midnight buffets (used to be an anticipated highlight), room service was complimentary and included a full menu, and all the shows were inclusive. There were no additional charges for food or entertainment. You only paid for alcohol and gambling. So it used to be more all inclusive than it is today! Having said that, I do enjoy the specialty restaurants on HAL, but I don't like lines that have upcharges in the dining room like RCI.

Princess is better than most, And easily the most organized. Your comments only reflect your inexperience and very limited understanding of the industry. PS: Been cruising for 40 years, and all inclusive was never the norm.

And what ship/line has an internet connection that nobody complains about? Is that the sound of crickets?

Good one @chirocop! You're right about that!👍

There are all inclusive cruises...for ten times the price. Come on PowerBall!

Who tries not to gain weight on a cruise? Isn't that why you diet before you go? 🤣 But I agree - all the cruise lines are introducing "add on" pricing. Carnival with the FTTF option (like fast pass at Disney); RCL has extra charges on the main dining room menu and special shows) Too bad! Used to be that a cruise truly was "all inclusive". But, it won't stop me from cruising! I still love it!
