Review summary

Reason this review is not 5 star is because of the CONSTANT LOUD use of the on deck movie screen.  Almost never off-so almost never any quiet on Lido and deck above.  Also, most of movies and "concerts" were geared to kids and teens. don't need to see Star Wars again!  Otherwise, this was a wonderful cruise.  Staff friendly and accommodating.  Leialoha and Tiki Dave are wonderful Hawaiian ambassadors. Service and food good in all venues.  Captain was always around with smiles for all.  Andrew-cruise director-one of best we have had on 20+ cruises.  We love the sea days on a long cruise.  Aloha

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Int'l Cafe and Coffee bar wonderful. Bakery items especially yummy, thx Rebecca! Changed from Traditional to Anytime. Much better experience being able to choose our own time to dine. Wait staff attentive. Deck servers-especially Jeffery-always available.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Leialoha and Tiki Dave provided great Hawaiian activities. Lei making, hula and ukulele lessons, to name a few. They were the best part of the activities offered. Other activities pretty standard for a cruise.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Leialoha and Tiki Dave were the top of the entertainment tier. Wonderful Hawaiian themed music. Piano players were good, as were princess entertainers. Biggest complaint and reason for 4 star rating-CONSTANT LOUD USE OF ON DECK MOVIE SCREEN. NO QUIET DAY IN THE SUN ON THAT DECK!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Andrew-one of best cruise directors we've had on 20+ cruises. Isla in Capt's Circle super helpful. All staff eager to help, clean and neat, seemed happy in their jobs-Melanie ALWAYS smiling!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Dining areas always seemed cleared of dirty items. Restrooms clean-even by pools 3 level Atrium quite beautiful-like the earth tone colors chosen.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Initially worried about noise from pool deck above and close elevators. NOT a problem at all, as location not directly under pool. EXCEPT for the woman in heels we heard most nights about 10:30 pm..HA! Cabin pretty standard-small compared to other lines, but fine. We think all cruise lines need more storage-even just some hooks and small shelving.

Ship tip

Don't miss the offerings of the International Cafe.

Ports of call

Hilo, Hawaii

3 out of 5
Jumping off place for the volcano-a must do. Hilo town itself very small. Princess does not sail by the lava flow at night.

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
Need to stay overnight. Lots to do here. Waikiki is a blast and other side of island is lush, green, and beautiful beaches. Pearl Harbor itself can take 1/2 day-need more time on Oahu.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

3 out of 5
Scenery is all Kauai has to offer. Same type of beauty on all islands. Could skip and stay the night on Oahu.

Lahaina, Maui

5 out of 5
Beautiful and diverse. Best place to see whales during the season.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
take $3.00 shuttle to town and buy Mexican vanilla....
