Review summary

We had a very good cruise, along with friends who traveled with us. The only problem was one of the two AC plants kept crashing over several days making some public areas and some cabins very hot and humid. Sleeping some nights was very difficult in the affected cabins. Conditions were worse for the crew quarters. Windstar did it’s best to deal with the situation and even flew an expert technician to travel with the ship and get the AC up as quickly as possible whenever it crashed. The passengers were understanding and patient. Windstar provide some compensation to the affected guests.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Boston embarkation was a little slow and the waiting area was cold.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Absolutely the most delicious food we have experienced—better than Silversea and Oceania. This cruise had the best coffee of all the cruises we’ve been on (40+).

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent, friendly, and fun overall. The newer crew members got up to speed quickly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The newly redesigned ship was an improvement overall. The two new additional seating areas of the grill are a little weird.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size, views, layout, and appointments were all excellent. We were surprised how big the wrap-around balcony was because it does not show up on the floor plans. The master bath was short on storage, but there was so much storage in the bedrooms, closet, and living room. Storage in the master bath could be remedied by adding shelves on a wall.

Ship tip

Bring a couple of heavy duty suction cup hooks to use in the bathroom to hang towels or travel kits.

No issues at all. We were traveling on independently and could disembark at our convenience.
