Review summary

A good cruise with an excellent itinerary but missing high quality entertainment on board.

Embarkation

Embarkation was delayed by 90 minutes. Some passengers had been advise beforehand but most had not. Took 3 hours to board. The was no communication from Princess or offers of water to those in the lengthy queues.

Food and Dining

The main dining room menu was not very enticing - as a result we ate in the speciality restaurants. These were very good with specific mention to Alfredo’s and the sushi bar which were excellent. Buffet did themed meals every night some good some not so good.

Onboard Activities

These were typical onboard activities such at trivia, Zumba, line dancing etc. Princess have now introduced Deal or No Deal game which involve scratch cards with little chance of winning more than a $5 dollar scratch card. You do however get the chance to participate in stage for the chance to win $1000. At $25 per card the only winner was Princess!

Entertainment

The two production shows were good. However I have now seen Rock Opera three times so getting a little boring. The new production 5 Skies was excellent with very clever effects. During the 12 day cruise there were entertainers every night however, with the exception of Philip Browne and Gareth Oliver, the acts were mediocre to poor. I was expecting more on a 13 day cruise.

Service and Staff

Cabin steward was excellent as was most of the staff. Some however were a bit off hand and not as friendly as I would expect.

We were in a suite - it was large and very clean but missing things such as flowers, fancy toiletries and amenity kits. Little touches that make having a suite special.
