We enjoyed the food in the MDR and Alfredo’s. We felt the specialty dining was very lacking from our previous cruising experience, did not care for the quality on the buffet or room service.

We did a lot of activities this cruise, lots of trivia and game shows. However they could have been better prepared, felt like staff threw a lot together last minute.

We found the service to be quite a bit less than what we have previously experienced on a cruise. From absentee room steward, to service desk, to servers.

The brand new ship is gorgeous! I knocked it one star due to how unclean we found it. Many areas were dirty and already rusty. Never saw staff cleaning like we had before.
Cabin / Stateroom

We paid for a deluxe balcony, I don’t feel it was any extra space really for the price. I felt their balcony was pretty small, room lacked storage, and did not care for having a curtain shower. It was also not cleaned very well by our steward. When we first arrived we found items left from previous guests in drawers and under the bed. Food and drinks in fridge and items in the trash can, this is after being told our room was ready.
Ship tip
We talked to a lot of loyal Princess cruisers who felt they had the same experience we had with this Ship. Perhaps this sailing was an anomaly? But it turned us off from another Princess Cruise
We did a cruise and tour to St. John! Gorgeous there. Really wish we had booked excursion there with beach time as Trunk Bay was picturesque. Also were able to go up the Skyride and watch the sunset over the ship, overpriced but good memory.
We had a horrible issue happen when on the island that ruined the port due to issue created by staff. Was reported through several layers of mgmt and we were quickly approached by senior officers to apologize and try to make amends for Princess’ wrong doing.
This was our second time here we did a top 10 best excursion through the ship then spent the rest of the day at Great Bay beach walking distance from the port.
Sounds to me like it was an anomaly. We were on the Sky a week after you and there were no issues. We received excellent service like always! Our specialty dining, Crown Grill, was so enjoyable we went twice. No we are not first time Princess cruisers; at the end of our cruise we have completed 22 Princess cruises.
Thank you for your review. I agree that a new ship, that seems to have a lack of cleanliness would be very disconcerting. Glad you were still able to make the best of it.
