Food sucked!
Medallion worked excellently!
Old folks can be cranky!
Ship was really noisy. A lot of creaking, rattling and shaking. The first night we kept waking up the noises were so loud and scary. I'm hoping it's like a house and just needs to settle.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation went very smoothly and I credit the use if the medallion for the ease of boarding. The only thing I think they need to reconsider is if you make it available to upload a photo, then why make us retake another one when we arrive.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
I was really disappointed in the food. All the venues, except the International Cafe, foods were lacking seasoning.
I've never experienced such tasteless cuisine on a Princess cruise. The only thing I am hoping is that it was because it's so soon coming into the rotation and the crew is still in the process of catching their rhythm.
The medallion app did make it much easier to order room service, but the menu is not as good as I've experienced on other cruises. The three bean chili should be replaced with a meat chili like I has on the Grand Princess.
In the Soliel dining room Siwa and Nidia were excellent and ensured our meals came as requested.
The burgers at the Salty Dog made you wish for Guy's Burger. I like melted cheese on my burgers, not slapped on cold cheese. You have to request the put it on the burger while on the grill.
We tried Alfredo's and they actually sent us out a burnt pizza and calzone.
The International Cafe has excellent sandwiches. Loved, Loved, Loved the tuna fish sandwich. They also had a delicious beef pot pie.
The Marketplace Buffet food did not look appetizing, and was hit or miss. The rice was often undercooked, bacon was hard and greasy and for the most part the food didn't get any better than that.
Some of the desserts tasted like they had been frozen.
I hope by the time they sail in the Mediterranean next year they are up to par.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Normal activities. The game shows in the New Princess Live are were good fun.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were okay. The Rock Opera was similar to what is presented on Carnival but wasn't as good. All but one act was worth watching.

Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Due to the norovirus outbreak they were constantly cleaning the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The minisuite A414 was nice. The cabin was in a good location. The only thing I really noticed was the carpet was piling.
Ship tip
Enjoy! I would still sail on the Sky Princess because overall we still had an awesome time!
Valletta was our favorite port! The architecture and colors just set this city apart from the other places we ported. You can take an excursion or just walk around like we did. Either way I think you'll enjoy this stop.
We did not do an excursion. We walked along the waterline and then through some of the city.
At noon the clock tower you can see from the cruise dock does a nice show.
Unfortunately, Princess has been experimenting with new menus. Sometimes to the good, sometimes to the bad (like the lobster tails). And it seems that the instructions for the new items sometimes may not be the clearest, as we found out a few times and the passengers get to play guinea pig.
