Review summary

We enjoyed our time on the Silver Spirit. We agree that we enjoy a little bigger boat, just larger spaces and shows, etc. The staff and itinerary were very pleasing to us.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Small terminal.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the free main dining rooms and buffet more than the upcharge speciality restaurants.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We used and enjoyed the fitness center. The lectures were excellent.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The small cast stage shows were very well done, well rehearsed, diverse in genres presented, costumes beautiful. The piano entertainer was amazing. The duo in Silver note was a pleasure to listen to.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Bar staff, waiters, cruise director, butler and housekeeping personnel were all extremely pleasant and professional.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We accommodated to the ship layout very quickly. Everything was spotless. We did note that some places showed signs of wear, evidencing that the ship is becoming “tired”. Worn places were seen in the pool, on the railing of the theater. Mold was noted in a window of La Terrazza.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved the bed, and were very comfortable in the living area. The shower did not drain well. Cleanliness was exceptional. The makeup mirror had a “broken neck” making it lean over drunkenly. (Not what you would expect on a luxury cruise)

Ship tip

Don’t go to the specialty restaurants.

Ports of call

Reykjavik, Iceland

PATREKSFJODUR, ICELAND

Akureyri, Iceland

5 out of 5

Seydisfjordur, Iceland

3 out of 5
Parts of Iceland are “not ready for prime time”. The remoteness is interesting, but there are just not enough venues to take visitors to in some spots. Example, roads not ready for bus traffic, venues not equipped with adequate toilets or casual seating, etc.

Djupivogur, Iceland

Same as above

Londonderry, Northern Ireland

Killybegs, Ireland

Disembarkation

Very organized.
