Not the Typical Regent Experience by Johnfriedman728

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Rough weather prevented a full port experience. Regent Operations screwed up the pre-cruise package so air package was sub par. My advice, NEVER trust Regent to make the air arrangements. Do the air deviations. One of the excursions was cancelled. Others were rushed. Frustrating. Cruise ship credits were worthless unless you were a spa freak. Clothing selections were very poor. What was on hand was good quality and fairly priced. Food was OK and service was excellent. Cabin was very nice and Steward tried his best. Luggage arriving three days into the cruise didn't help. Movie selection great but TV channel selection was very poor.

Singapore to Sydney cruise by Cruiser90007945

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: South Pacific

We have cruised on Regent Seven Seas Cruise Lines many times. The friendliness and service of the staff has always been a "Plus" when comparing Regent to other cruise lines. The personal touches  supplied by our cabin Stewardess such as decorating our cabin to help us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary were unexpected and much appreciated.

JAM'S Review by joseamondragon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Australasia

Ship refurbished recently. Public areas very nice. Cabin bad, king size bed fit into space that leaves less than two feet at either side to get out of it. On one side of bed, a picture hanging on the wall plus a curtain used to separate the sleeping from the sitting area blocking the way out. You bump into the picture and have to push the curtain out of the way every time you want to get out of the bed.

Food quality poor. Service very bad. Number of wait personnel not enough. It takes forever to get someone's attention to get your order and get a waiter to clear table of dirty dishes.

Waiting lists at Compass Rose (a novelty). When you are finally seated, you see a number of empty tables around you that are never taken. Maybe this system is used to keep number of guests down to make up for the lack of enough wait and kitchen personnel.

Entertainment has been grossly downgraded to include mostly one-performer show, the type you see at a bar. Gone are the Broadway-type shows. Cruise line has been downgraded ever since Norwegian took it over. What a shame!

REGENT BALTIC by mnabors1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Cabins were great - roomy, loved having separate shower, tub, and walk-in closet.  Dining service was spotty - particularly in the compass rose main dining room.  Not up to standards on Oceania cruise.  Food overall was good, but not often great. Loved the art lectures - Mary was fabulous.  Room service was excellent.  Our cabin service was also really good.

Voyager has a great crew. by barthelsm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The crew is the best part of the cruise. They are always very accommodating, friendly and fun. The ship itself needs an entire refurbishing. It's good that the Voyager will be in dry dock for this overhaul. The Sette Mari Italian restaurant needs to update its menu. It's boring. A butler is superfluous. Room and maid service covers the same tasks. Many of the items like clothing, jewelry and accessories found in the shops are not unique. It would be nice to have more local items represented from the areas of the countries that we are visiting. The tours are very mediocre. It would also be nice if guest speakers were invited to talk about the various sights and give out maps ahead of the stops. Or at least print maps with points of interest in the "Passages" daily newsletter and include weather forecasts. Great Eggs Benedict! Dining meals and choices, for the most part, were excellent.

We enjoyed the dining experience the most.

A regular coffee pot in the suite would be nice😌

We would definitely recommend Dream Vacations -John Dorman to our friends & family.

Not Worth the Money by lakhbir1914

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We were underwhelmed with the ship and the service. The boarding was inefficient, slower than on a Celebrity cruise my wife took last year, were there roughly four times as many passengers. Our suitcases were taken from our hotel at 8am, but not delivered to our cabin until the late afternoon.

The ship needs a good refurbishing. The shower and sink did not drain properly in our cabin, and the curtains were of poor quality, letting a lot of light into the cabin in the mornings. The food was OK, but the service was below par for a luxury line - you had to attract a waiter's attention to get a drink refill.

The gym was often crowded, and the weights area was small, making difficult for more than  1 or 2 people to use it at the same time.

On the positive side, our butler was excellent, and the excursions were generally good, although we, having little interest in shopping, found being left at shopping areas for an hour or more a little annoying.

Regent does it again by scallewart

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Regent exceeds expectations. This was my fifth with Regent. The all inclusive aspect with first class service is perfect for my inner snob that wants pampering. The clientele is well dressed and sophisticated and my teenagers can get away from me onboard, but i know they are safe! They learn about fabulous food and table manners, too, without me nagging.

Northern Europe cruise by kejee28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

My husband and I had a lovely cruise on Voyager that spanned 10 days and visited France, Spain, Ireland and Wales. The ship, service, food, excursions were all wonderful. My only hesitation for booking with Regent again would be dealing with their Air Services department who don't seem competent to schedule the appropriate time for connecting flights.

Seven Seas Voyager Jun 06, 2016 10 Night Centuries Of Contrast by HSM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Service and staff attentiveness was unsurpassed. The excursions were plentiful but did not spend enough time at each venue to see what was offered. We especially liked the small ship experience.

Bad Weather But Excellent Post Cruise by Wayne1937

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Very bad weather in the South China Sea caused the ship to cancel the voyage to Vietnam and skip another port because of scheduling conflict brought on by the Vietnam cancellation. So the ship spent an extra day in Brunei (at best a one day port) and Manila (again a one day port). Destination Services said they could not schedule any tours on these extra days because of the Chinese New Year holiday.

And because we were doing a back to back cruises (Singapore to Bangkok was the first cruise), Destination Services said that we could pay for the tours of Bangkok on the full day we were docked. My opinion of Destination Services is very low and this will negatively affect any future bookings with Regent.

We were given two extra bookings in the "specialty restaurants" and we took advantage of this extra.

Our dining experience in the Compass Rose varied from poor to okay(consistently slow service and some bad tasting dishes). But the dining experience in the Specialty Restaurants was always excellent.

We found that dining at lunch time in LaVeranda/Pool Grille was pleasurable both for service and for the variety of food options. Also the service at Sette Mare for dinner was always great.

Having cruised many times with Regent, we are now skipping the Jean Anne Ryan shows as they do not change. And on this segment we only tried one of the other entertainers.

The enrichment lectures were both educational and well done.

It seemed that many people who boarded in Bangkok brought with them serious coughing.  I came down with bronchitis shortly after their boarding and visited the ship's medical facilities for very expensive treatment. Did I catch it from one of the passengers?

The post cruise in Hong Kong was well done except that three bus loads of us were dumped on the Shangri-La Hotel at one time. It took over one hour to check-in. Bummer. But the hotel was excellent and the tours were above average.

Transfer to the airport was handled very well.

A note to Regent: There seemed to be many passengers who took the pre-cruise to Angkor Wat and were very disgruntled with it.  They made their bad feelings known to us and other passengers. Then the weak response by Destination Services to the weather disruption seemed to fuel the hostile attitude toward Regent Cruises.

Myanmar trip by jjenlow

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Cruise overall was excellent, enrichment lectures were in particularly helpful to help in understanding the countries and ports we visited.  We are Gold members with Regents and have sailed with them many times, this time we noticed that the food had really improved, in the past we preferred Oceania for food. The all inclusive nature on Regents is really nice, one price and no worries after that...

The suites on board I believe are the best on any ship we have been on with huge bathrooms and walk-in closets etc.

Great service. Clean ship. Excursion quality varies greatly. by Wayne1937

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

You could not ask for better staff. Friendly and hard working. Staff tries to fulfill every passenger request with a smile. Entertainment is wonderful if you have not seen the Jean Anne Ryan shows. But we have seen them all quite a few times and have stopped going. The other talent is mixed with great individual musicians and vocalists. A comedian called Noodles was at times good but past his sell by date. We had some really outstanding excursions and some duds. Some ports had little to offer and hence we did not enjoy the tour. With that in mind, our three days (pre- cruise) in Singapore was very interesting and very well organized.

Very Good by ceft

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

I have already provided a brief review of my cruise and air travel to my Agent Richard Mize.

Do not intend to repeat the review that I provided to my Luxury Only Agent, Richard Mize. The air connection and waiting time in Johannesburg airport was not an enjoyable experience. Waiting in the immigration line for 90 minutes in a heated room was not a good start for my cruise. I was not told that travelling on SA airline that I would also have to collect my luggage and re-check in for my connecting SA flight to Cape Town. Also was very upset to learn that an Australian Couple paid less than half what I paid for the cruise without the air tickets being included in their price. I was told they only paid a total of $20,000 for the cruise.

Great Service and Food by Wayne1937

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

WE received great service and the food was excellent. Cabin service was also excellent. We had a noisy neighbor one night at 2 a.m., but security solved the issue. Entertainment was average but we are tired of seeing the same aerialist routine year after year. The Jean Ann Ryan shows are the same  with so-so dancing and singing. The enrichment lecture was a step down from previous cruises with a monotone delivery by the speaker. We had a tight connection in Boston and missed our domestic connection.Yummy

Wonderful Baltic Cruise by glcchiang

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We enjoyed our cruise tremendously! Food was delicious, ship and crew were fantastic and the tours were wonderful and informative. Great tour guides! We stayed in a hotel in Stockholm before the trip and the transportation to take us to the hotel and from the hotel to the ship was well organized and went smoothly.
