Review summary

We sail by itinerary rather than ship loyalty. It was OK, but too much riding on buses to get to attractions. Would not recommend this particular tour to anyone, but the overall cruise experience was 5-star. Would take Regent again if it sailed to where we wanted to explore.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England Did not visit port

Not that much to see. It is an industrial port.

NEWHAVEN HARBOUR (EDINBURGH), SCOTLAND Did not visit port

Cancelled due to Queen Elizabeth's funeral. Alternate port was Le Havre France. Not much to see. No tour due to short notice

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

Too far a bus ride. Local tour guide was friendly enough, but difficult to understand due to heavy brogue. 8 minute video basically gave all the information needed. Ruins were anticlimactic.

Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland

Nice city to visit , then got on a bus tour, had a great guide who was very informitive about the attractions which made the bus ride tolerable.

Ullapool, Scotland

Long bus ride to see the gardens, would not recommend or do it again.

Killybegs, Ireland

Nice city, but not much else to see or do

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Tour of the Titanic Museum, great visit

Dundas Harbour, Devon Island, Nunavut

Dublin is always a great city to see. Recommend a closed coach to get to the city, and then Hop On/Hop Off bus ride as an attraction when getting to Dublin for an overall view of the city. The Big Bus transportation from the pier was long and cold in the open air.

Holyhead, Wales Did not visit port

Ocean and rough seas Captain did not feel safe sailing into the .

Waterford, Ireland

5 out of 5
Tour to the castle wasn't all that great. We thought it was going to be a guided tour, but it was a self-paced tour and very difficult to manuver the steps up and down if have any walking disabities. But the scones and the tea at the cafe were delicious. Now the Waterford Crystal factory was really interesting and informative. Great to see craftsmen using their abilities to make really fine crystal.

Portland (Weymouth), England, UK

Not much to do, nice city to visit, we cancelled out tour to the Tank Museum because it was another over an hour on the buse. Late tour would not have gotten back until 7 pm and it was the last day, we still would need to pack.
