Review summary

I'm so glad that I finally was able to do the transatlantic voyage as it was a bucket list item of mine. We ended up being on the ship for at least 8 days straight due to bad weather in the Azores, but the crew kept everyone entertained and fed just fine. This may be the last long cruise we will be able to take due to age and health conditions but one never knows. I hope we can do another but probably shorter cruise sometime in the not too distant future.

Embarkation

Even though we had opted to not go ashore at the Bermuda stop, we were forced to fill out paperwork on our cell phones which was incredibly extensive (uploading paperwork, etc.) and time consuming and Bermuda demanded $40 per person regardless of whether we were going to step foot on Bermuda or not. It was a rip off and a very poor start to the cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All were good to excellent. The Compass Rose and room service had a problem bringing food to the table hot. Several times we had lukewarm food.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Learning more bridge.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Absolutely great musicians, singers and dancer. The costuming was outstanding.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was impeccable. Loved Zahid, our butler.

Cabin / Stateroom

We are forever spoiled after having a penthouse suite. It was lovely, comfortable and always clean.

Ship tip

Depends on where you are going. If you have any walking problems you must bring a cane or walker as ships are long, terminals are longer and some of the excursions require a lot of walking. Good walking shoes a must.

Except for government greed, sounds like they had a good trip.
