I'd do this ship and itinerary again and I would go to Tampa also. We've been on all sizes of ships with Royal and you kind of have an idea what to expect if you've been on several. This was one of the smallest and oldest that Royal has and in December we're going on the Wonder of the Seas so just have fun and keep an open mind for what the ship is going to offer.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Only issue was self inflicted and we didn't research the parking enough for Tampa, but once we parked we were on the ship in just a few minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Not really a complaint but we did get one of the drink packages and we didn't see any soda machines. We actually had to go to a bar to get a soda.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Cinema and show seating wasn't the most comfortable to sit in if you are going to be in there for over an hour. Prob just an older ship that needs updated.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Watched a few shows and they were great. Comedian was fantastic, but not for those who are sensitive.
Children's Programs
No young children and my teenager didn't want to attend any of the events.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
These people are always great it seems... we didn't see our room steward all that much but he was always busy when we did see him. Everyone in the MDR and Windjammer were awesome and very helpful. Same with the bar tenders.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
For an older ship I didn't see any issues with cleanliness or a design flaw. In fact I can tell why this ship was the one that was chosen to be the one for the world cruise (or whatever). Tons of windows and easy to get around.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Older ship so we didn't really have the best outlet situation, but was manageable. While the linens and pillows were fantastic, the bed was hard as a rock.
Ship tip
If you've gone on a lot of cruises and are ready to just relax and not stress as much about running around and doing everything, then this is the ship for you.
Left the room and was off the ship in about 10 minutes. Possibly 5 minutes of that was waiting on the elevator as they seem to always be full on disembarkation day. Shuttle was right there waiting for us to take us to the parking lot which was nice.
