Review summary

Would cruise on the Serenade of the Seas again anytime! A friendly ship, best bartenders anywhere and very good food, especially in the Windjammer!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth sailing throughout the boarding process!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best bartenders in the Royal Caribbean fleet!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Activities in the Centrum was outstanding, including a salute to all the veterans on board

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Music in the Centrum was great! A little disappointed in the Schooner music on the cruise

Children's Programs

No kids on this cruise with us!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wait staff in the Centrum was the best we've ever had on all our cruises! The bartender even had a "class" to show us how to toss glasses, behind the back tosses, etc.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Considering the age of the Serenade, this was one of the cleanest ships we've been on, including the Oasis!! Carpet in common areas were "uncommonly" clean!!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Clean and was the usual size in our category. The bath is showing some signs of wear and tear, but, overall, was clean and efficient.

Ship tip

Don't miss activities in the Centrum!!

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

4 out of 5
As usual, it seems like all of Boston is undergoing construction/renovation activities; however, the history of the place makes it a joy to visit!!

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Spent more time on our Kennebunkport excursion than in Portland. Great area.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
We love Bah Habah!! Been there before and kinda knew where the good food/drinks were located.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Some of the friendliest people on earth reside in Saint John. The make you feel welcome the minute you stem off the ship!

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
Friendly people but it seemed like any other medium sized city (maybe summertime would be a better time to visit and take advantage of the surrounding nature).

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Of our eleven cruises, the most trouble free and quickest we've encountered anywhere!

Glad you enjoyed it. We always enjoy Royal Caribbean and the food in both the dining room and buffet. I see some complain that there were not enough choices, food was horrible, nothing they could eat, lost weight, etc. I’m not sure how anyone could not find something they could eat on a cruise.
