Outstanding! We had incredible weather in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick. Bar Harbor was enveloped in fog but burned off by noon. I plan to go back via car in the future.

Review summary

Food in the dining room was excellent. Try dishes you've never had, wait staff encourages it. You'll walk away Facebook friends with your table mates. Entertainment was very good. Buffet was good but food choices were repeated daily.

Embarkation

There was a security equipment breakdown so there was a 40 minute delay for about half of the crowd. Luckily, I wasn't in that group.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Windjammer Cafe

We had lunch there every day. The food was the same each day with the exception of one station that changed daily. I recall Caribbean food, vegetarian, but have forgotten the other two (sorry). Pizza, dogs, burgers, salads, pastas/sauces, to name a few. Breakfast was plentiful. A variety of eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, omelet station, pastries, bagels, english muffins... Had breakfast there 3 out of 5 mornings.

Guest Services and Shore Excursions

4 out of 5

We had two occasions with guest services. Day 2 we had one complaint. The sofa bed did not have a mattress and was rock hard! (who forgets sheets & mattress). We also asked for ice every night for our mom's foot. It was there every night. They sent us a bottle of wine to apologize for the sofa bed error. They met our every need.

Entertainment

Tropical Theater

The seats are not cramped. Costumes were very well done, music was great, comedian was funny, singers & dancers were flawless and we saw every show.

Centrum

3 out of 5

Definitely the music hub of the ship. One night there was 50/60's music, next 70/80's, next country so there was a good variety for our older crowd. However, extremely LOUD! If your cabins are near mid-ship, you'll hear it.

DO IT! I waited until age 58 for my first cruise. Don't wait, do it now.
