Review summary

At the end of the day, I believe we would do it again. In the future we will consider planning some kind of excursions. At lease get off the boat to have lobster. The big item I love about this ship is the Solarium ... it's one of my favorite places to hangout.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
No, problem getting on. It went smooth and fairly quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate in the Windjammer most evenings and most of the time it was very good. Some evenings better than others. On some occasions we saw the same food being put out from the day before. One evening we went to the Reflections restaurant and in their menu they advertise a "Whole Maine Lobster" they said they can boil, steam or grill it. I wanted a whole boiled lobster. It turned out to be a disaster. I received 1/2 of a lobster sliced right down the middle, no claws and the tail meat was removed and something was put in place of the tail meat, then grilled. I did complain, and I did get my money back, but I told them I wanted a replacement just as the menu states ... they said they don't have them. It's not something they can provide!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The hot tub and pool in the Solarium were very nice. I thought the activities lacked a bit of luster this year. They had 2 comedians in one week. I thought that was too much. And the Royal Caribbean dancers 2 nights. Don't get me wrong the RC dancers are very good. A more of a variety would have been better. I know in the past we have seen better shows.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
They did have one musician in the Centrum (middle of the ship) who played guitar melodies his name was Yaroslav and I thought he was wonderful. I liked him so much I wanted to purchase a CD from him ... but he has not produced any at this time because of some kind of licensing issue. We also attended a 70's party in the Centrum and that was very fun. Just about every night we also went to deck 13 for late night dancing ... not many people up there. We had the place to ourselves and music of our choice.

Children's Programs

I did not bring any children, and not many children were on the ship either. So I can't speak for those people.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff are truly wonderful. They are very nice, pleasant, and very hardworking. The cabin was cleaned everyday and she did a great job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Yes, the ship looked clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony and it's really the only way to go. It's wonderful at night to hear the waves and have fresh ocean air all night long. The day time was also very nice to sit out on the balcony in peace and quiet for reading a book ... just wonderful.

Ship tip

My advice would be to only go with a balcony, and don't plan on ordering any lobster on the ship.

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts Did not visit port

We are from Boston.

Bar Harbor, Maine Did not visit port

Because my plan was to get my Maine lobster on the ship.

Portland, Maine

3 out of 5
We did take the tender over to Portland Maine, but I am not a shopper of such for knickknacks. We went for the tender ride only and looked around a bit. I may have my ports mixed up, because there were a lot of stops.

Saint John, New Brunswick Did not visit port

Only because we were not looking to shop.

Halifax, Nova Scotia Did not visit port

Again, because we mainly go for the cruise only, not to shop or excursions.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was okay. We followed the rules to exit and I think it was faster than "Doing your own thing."

Don’t judge cruise by the Seranade class. It was really small and didn’t have all the amenities the larger ships do
