Review summary

Great ship, amazing staff, talented entertainment, wonderful food. We loved it. We would sail on this ship over and over again. This class of ship is known as the "ships of glass" because there is so much exterior glass to the sea. We love it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty "usual". We are Diamond members with Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor club so we were expedited on board with a special line for Diamond members and above.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I have always said that the smaller the ship, the better the food. It makes sense because the staff can take special care. The food was excellent; better than I have experienced on any ship for a long while.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Because Serenade of the Seas has a "Centrum" atrium area of the ship where everyone naturally gathers, this is where the staff chooses to have many activities. There were Zumba classes, couples dance classes, games, live music, etc. I really appreciated approaching the Centrum from all areas of the ship, looking down and seeing fun stuff going on to join in. We did not use the climbing wall but have in the past. The mini golf is fun. We used the pools and hot tubs. Royal Caribbean is one of few lines who have lifeguards at every pool. We appreciate that for the little ones we sometimes take along. They are also now supplying life jackets FREE for all ages.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Small ships have small singing/dancing groups but they are not small on talent. Wow, is all I can say about this troup. Lots of talent. Also, their were amazing top-notch comedians and a juggler.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I called this cruise "old time service" and I mean that in an awesome way. Our waiter and his assistant were superb. The Head Waiter took care of my husband's numerous food allergies so that he could enjoy food that would not make him sick. The Head Waiter; Mr. Sumanti, also had special desserts made up just for my husband so he wouldn't feel left out.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Serenade is a little old and if you really look, you can see the wear around the edges. However, she is very clean, well maintained, and the sheets are so soft, I was tempted to pinch them and bring them home. LOL The public areas ar clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean has some of the largest staterooms at sea. We were so happy with the size and comfort of our room. We had many empty cabinets we didn't even use!

Ship tip

Have a great time and sail on her as many times as possible. We are already looking into another destination on this ship.Oh

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It's nice that the ships now allow you to stay in your room, go have breakfast, or hang out in a public area until your disembarkation time is called. We just entered the line into the main dining room, presented our passports and off we went.
