I did enjoy the cruise. There are a few problems with each of the ports and the Windjammer. I still think this cruise is a good option for seeing Northern Europe.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were able to check in our luggage and board the ship with no problems.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room was great. Our servers were prompt and attentive, and the food was tasty. There was an adequate selection of starters, entrees, and desserts each night. The Windjammer buffet had a lot of choices, and the food was good. However, the Windjammer is too small for a ship with so many passengers. We had to eat outside or take our meals to our stateroom. We did not utilize the specialty restaurants.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We utilized the fitness center and the jogging track.
Entertainment
We did not attend the shows.
Children's Programs
Our children are adults.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our stateroom attendant was excellent. She was friendly and helpful. Our waiter and assistant waiter in the dinning room were also wonderful. The service in the Windjammer for those of us eating at the tables outside was not as good as the service inside.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This is a clean ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were very comfortable in this stateroom for the 7 day cruise. The balcony was fine for 2 people. The closet and shelf space was fine for 2 people.
Ship tip
For the Baltic cruises, you will need warm clothes even in the summer.
Stockholm is very pretty and scenic. We did the land and water tour. The water tour has seats that are comfortable for 2, however the tour is filled up with 3 per seat. We were uncomfortable during that portion of the tour. The bus portion of the tour was fine.
There were long lines at immigration, the only port that requires this. Then the computers crashed so we stood in line for over an hour. The bus for City Highlights and Pushkin was cramped and uncomfortable. There were several large groups with odd numbers of guests, so my husband and I did not get to sit together. The Winter Palace is impressive, and we were also able to take photos at a few other sights. This tour was an adequate value for the money, nothing special.
